Rocket Mortgage: A Place Called Home

Home ownership is the essence of the American Dream. The place we call home represents a rich tapestry, weaving together personal identity, geography, culture, notions of wealth and prosperity. As part of their new national brand campaign, Rocket Mortgage came to Slipstream with a bold vision and ambitious challenge: Capture and do justice to this rich tapestry in a series of unique visual assets and portraits—in a way that doesn’t look like anyone or anything else out there.

With that as the goal, and less than 3 weeks to accomplish it, we set to work. Tapping a trusted network of local sources, we identified and vetted a short-list of families and homes covering a cross-section of America’s geography, ethnic/racial diversity, family and home types. With an eye toward minimizing our production footprint, David then got on a plane and traveled the country solo, spending time with subjects in their daily home lives to capture the essence of what homeownership means to them. The result was an extensive library of images for Rocket to integrate into its ad campaigns, website, social feeds, and other brand properties.
